The difference a day can make

God be thanked for:

  1. time to rest and recuperate from our trip;

  2. confidence that the saints continued steadfast in the faith and work during our six-week absence;

  3. comforting promises of God that keep the heart from despair and nurture our hope.

¶ It's amazing the difference a day can make, be it in productivity, mood, etc., for good or ill. So we must take the long view, or the average, if you prefer. And learn not to pay much attention to feelings fed by immediate events or tasks.

¶ Weight gain during the recent trip was somewhere between 2-3 kilos. Could have been worse.

¶ The temperature hit 92ºF earlier today. Welcome to summer.

¶ Renters of the house across the street moved out yesterday. House was sold. We pray the owners will be open to the gospel.

¶ Many are already traveling because of the holidays. Makes it harder sometimes to do God's work, but we work with what we have. There are some advantages, too. Some pause to consider that life is more than possessions. May they find in Christ the real essence of life.
