Much truth here:

Satan loves to trip us over little things. The reason for this is that it is generally a greater victory for him and shows that he can upset us by a shaving and knock us down with a straw. It is the old boast of the Jebusites, when they told David they could defend Jerusalem by a garrison of the blind and lame.

The little foxes spoil the vineyard. The minor irritations of life often sour our attitudes. The evil one will pull us down at once or by degrees, however he can.

Great introductory paragraph to a great article.
“Joseph is one of the great characters of the OT. The story of Joseph is second only to Abraham in space. God never uses space in the Bible unwisely or without purpose. There must be worthwhile lessons in the life of Joseph.” —Wayne Holland

“Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (4:7). That’s easy to say, but difficult to do. We need to realize that to resist Satan is essentially to resist the world because Satan is the ruler of this world (cf. John 14:30). We can overcome any temptation–if we want to! God has provided a way of escape, but we have to look for it (cf. I Cor. 10:13).
