I sang next to DD in FHU Chorale’s last song.

God blessed us with a beautiful, powerful evening at the Fourth Street church in Selmer, Tennessee. The Presidential Trek had one of it's greatest blessings yet as we joined the Freed-Hardeman Chorale for an evening together! The Fourth Street congregation rolled out the red carpet with a welcoming bulletin board, kind words and fresh cut arrangements accompanying a lovely dinner. It was even complete with musical note napkins. We extend a big thank you to FHU Trustee Robert Shackelford and his wife Alison for hosting a pizza supper for area wide youth before services at the Civic Center, as well as their careful attention to every detail throughout the evening. What an evening! From the FHU side of things, allow me to say that the Dr. McKnight led Chorale was so powerful we found tears in our eyes several times. Talent, preparation and passion are beautiful characteristics to behold. Also, I note the fact that our team from Community Engagment had completed Rush just a few hours before we left for this Trek. (Read that sentence again.) I'm constantly amazed with the dedication of our Freed-Hardeman family. Tonight I will pray in thanksgiving for the 4th Street congregation, The FHU Chorale, our Trek Team and all the wonderful souls God has allowed us to meet this weekend. All glory to Him. @freedhardeman
